Status: Frozen
Total items: 1
Date: 05/21/2009 thru 05/21/2009
Late Registration Deadline: 05/21/2009

Training Information:

In a emergency, action is needed right away. Fiscal first aid tactics provide immediate relief from fiscal distress, and help stabilize the situation so that more comprehensive treatments can be appled. However, all fiscall first aid techniques are not equal. Some techniques can contribute directly to long-term financial sustainability. Others provide short-term relief but introduce risks of more instability in the future. Some may even hold out flase hope of relief only to make the problem worse. This session will highlight a variety of fiscal first aid techniques, including their advantages and disadvantages. It will also cover the situations under which each technique is best used, such as when it is advisable to accept a risky technique or whether a more sustainable technique will deliver sufficient short-term relief.
